Irgens Starts Construction on Carlinville Area Hospital Medical Office Building

11/18/2014

Irgens is pleased to announce the commencement of construction on a new medical office building for Carlinville Area Hospital (CAH), a critical access hospital located in Carlinville, Illinois. The single-story, 28,000 square foot medical office building will be physically connected to the hospital, and will provide outpatient physician clinic space, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and behavioral health services to the community.

During the development of its replacement hospital (opened in 2010), CAH planned a future medical office building to accommodate anticipated growth in outpatient services. The new facility will provide needed space to expand existing CAH departments, establish new CAH service lines, and consolidate community physicians into a centralized location.  In addition to CAH physicians, Springfield Clinic will relocate its existing Carlinville physicians to the new facility.

“Irgens’ healthcare expertise and collaborative approach allowed Carlinville Area Hospital to conceptualize and develop a modern medical office building that helps us achieve our goal of providing the community with the most convenient quality health care,” said Ken Reid, CEO of Carlinville Area Hospital.

As development manager of the new medical office building, Irgens performed extensive due diligence to define the project scope; assembled a full design team and consultants; and is overseeing all elements of the design and construction process.

Construction on the Carlinville Medical Office Building is scheduled for completion in Summer 2015. HGA Architects is providing design services for the facility.
