Gilbert, Ariz. – Milwaukee-based Irgens recently held its grand opening of the firm’s latest healthcare development, Mercy Medical Commons. The 47,000 square foot Class A medical office building is located in Gilbert.

“It took awhile for this project to get off the ground, but now that it is complete and open to the public, we are all celebrating an overwhelmingly positive end result,” said Mark Irgens, manager/president of Irgens. “Our tenants and investors couldn’t be more pleased and the local community is benefiting by having even better access to high-quality medical care.”

Four established medical practices are tenants in the building. They include Advanced Surgical Associates Ltd., Arizona Cancer Specialists PLC, Desert Oncology Associates LLP and Scottsdale Medical Imaging Ltd. Together these medical practices offer on-site imaging, radiation therapy and chemotherapy treatments for cancer patients as well as surgical consulting.

“Mercy Medical Commons is a destination medical center offering cancer patients in Phoenix’s East Valley superior care and access to the latest technological innovations and therapies,” said Dr. Richard Cooper of Advanced Surgical Associates. “We worked closely with Irgens to develop and design this facility with the needs of the community in mind.”

Other project team members included Grubb & Ellis (listing broker), Architectural Nexus (design), Okland Construction (contractor), M&I Bank (lender), Godfrey & Kahn (legal) and Rimrock Company (consultant).

Irgens incorporated sustainable elements into the building’s design and construction and the team is hoping to achieve Green Globes certification from the Green Building Initiative before the end of the year.
